I TOOK PHOTOS IN THE CLUBS

I TOOK PHOTOS IN THE CLUBS , IT WAS MARTIN-X AND FUSHIA DOLL & BELLA, DOING PARTIES DOWNSTAIRS IN THE CHAPEL OF LIMELIGHT.

I TOOK PHOTOS AT THE RED ZONE, SUZANNE PARTIES AT THE COPACABANA AND AMAZON, AND SOME OTHER EARLY CLUB KID EVENTS.

NOBODY PAID ME NO ATTENTION, TILL I STARTED DEEJAYING…MARTIN BOOKED ME IN THE LIMELIGHT, TENNESSE WAS PLAYING ALOT THEN, AND ALSO SISTER DIMENSION, AND KEOKI WERE PLAYING ALOT ON THE MAIN FLOOR….

I WAS THE DEEJAY AT OUR WEEKLY EVENT IN THE BALCONY OF THE BALLANGER’S VIP ROOM.

“THE MAKE-UP ROOM” BY PETER FUCK’IN A. AND REIGN VOLTAIRE.

WE TRIED PARTIES BEFORE, BUT WE COULD NOT COMPETE WITH MICHEAL AND PETER GATIENS BUDGET BACK THEN…

WE DID “FANFUCKINTASTIC” AND “WORD OF MOUTH BITCH” AND HAD SOME OLD SCHOOL HAGS WITH OUR NEW SCHOOL FINNISH POSSE.

ANYWAY ONCE WE WERE AT WEBSTER-HALL AND HAD DOUG FUCKED-UP AT OUR PARTY WEEKLY, WE KNEW WE COULD GET PAID AND BRING OUR ORIGINAL AND FIRST OFFICIAL RUNWAY CLUB-KID PARTY TO LIFE.

THE WORLD AND THE BUILDING AND THE PALLADIUM WERE TORN DOWN.

MY IMAGES WERE THE POSTER OF PARTY MONSTER…AND BEFORE THAT THE FLYERS OF MANY PARTIES IN THE SCENE.
IT WAS LISCENED BY WORLD OF WONDERS FROM L.A.
(THEY GOT MY SLIDES FROM MICHEALS CRIB WHEN IT WAS BEING SEARCHED?)
(SO THEY SAID) THEY WERE OFFERING TO GIVE ME A COPY OF MY PICS TAKEN YEARS AGO FOR HIS BIRTHDAY PARTY, (I WAS NEVER FULLY PAID FOR THE SLIDES BY TUNNEL)

BUT WORLD OF WONDER ONLY SENT ME THE SLIDES TO JAPAN IF I AGREE TO LET THEM USE THEM IN A DOCUMENTARY.

NEXT THEY COPIED MY SAME PHOTO FOR A SECOND RELEASE OF THE PARTY MONSTER LAST YEAR! “YOU ALL KNOW WHAT PIC I AM TALKING ABOUT…”

ANYWAY, JUST RECENTLY SHOWED MY BEST PHOTOS EVER AT 1 MONTH PHOTO INSTALLATION IN THE “caniche courage GALLERY” (COMME DES GARCONS SHOWROOM) ALONG WITH THE WORKS OF SILVESTER RIBBON…

BACK TO MY MUZIK BIZZ…SONGS WERE PRODUCED BY MYSELF AND PETER A. (aka. height 611)THIS WAS AROUND THE TIME WHEN I GOT FIRED FROM “QUEEN” ON THE MAIN FLOOR OF WEBSTER HALL.

I WAS THEN HIRED BY MICHEAL TO PLAY THE MAIN ROOM AT TUNNEL…”GO FIGURE!?”

WE WORKED WITH EDDIE DAVIS AND ESU JESUS SANANDA, “SANANDA” WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PEOPLE TO EVER DRAG ME INTO A STUDIO THEN MOSES DRAGED ME INTO THE STUDIO, I DRAGGED PETER, I DRAGGED JACKIE CHRISTIE, I DRAGGED WENDY BUTLER, ETC…

I HAD 3 STUDENTS WHILE I DEEJAYED “WENDY” (DURING THE DAYS OF MAKE-UP ROOM, THE TUNNEL AND ROBOTS.) “D.M.” (DURING MY DAYS AT THE CLIT CLUB+ THROB RECORDS) ” MAYBEE” ( MY LAST STUDENT IN TOKYO, DURING MY FIRST FEW YEARS IN JAPAN, AND DURING OUR LANGUAGE DAYS)

WHEN I WAS A DEEJAY IN MY VERY YOUNG DAYS, FEMALE DEEJAYS INSPIRED ME…

NEXT WE MEET JOHNNY VICIOUS. ONE NIGHT I WAS PLAYING AT THE TUNNEL (RIGHT BEFORE I GOT FIRED AND THEN HIRED BY STEVEN LEWIS TO PLAY AT SAVE THE ROBOTS) THIS SONG THAT SAMPLED PRINCE, HE THEN BOUGHT ALL OF OUR RECORDS WE MADE…

BILL COLEMAN HOOKED US UP WITH TOWA TEI & THE BELOVED.
HEX HECTOR BOUGHT MY KEYBOARD FOR $1000 CASH (I REMEMBER GOING TO U.S.A. TO PICK-UP MY MONEY) THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I GOT TO HEAR MY FIRST SONG PLAYED IN A MAIN ROOM. “T.N.T. LUV TRIP” LATER RELEASED ON WAAKO RECORDS/ STRICTLY RYTHM.

I USED TO PLAY THIS MIX A TRACK BY THE GOODMEN “GIVE IT UP” AND GEORGE KRANZ “DIN DAA DAA” ON THE MAINFLOOR OF WEBSTER HALL…
DAVID MORALES RELEASED A SONG ON STRICTLY RYTHM WITH THE SAME EXACT TWO SAMPLES, THE SAME EXACT WAY.

WE WORKED WITH HIROSHI WATANABE & SYUNJI MORIWAKI.
WE REMIX RICHIE RICH FOR SWOON RECORDS(TWO BOTTLES +611) YR AND TAKUMI NIHEI…

WE NEVER GOT A PROMO, WE NEVER GOT PAID!

TOOK PHOTOS OF FRANCOIS KEVORKIAN, JOI CARDWELL, KEVIN ROBINSON,JIIMI TENOR, RON ATHEY, CHARLES SCHILLING, DAWN STRAP-ON, HOUSE OF TWIST, HOUSE OF DELPHINO, & MORE…

WE RELEASED OUR OWN RECORD… “HEIGHT 611 PRODUCT E.P.” IT CONTAINED A TRACK “WET WHISPERS” LULA LOVED THISTRACK, BECAUSE DANNY TANEGELIA LOVED THIS TRACK AND PLAYED IT… PETER RAUHOFER STOLED THIS TRACK AND RELEASED IT ON HIS OWN LABEL.
EVEN AFTER WE WERE NICE ENOUGH TO RE-RECORD THIS TRACK WITH LULA’S VOCAL! IT WAS LATER CALLED “A MAN IS A DRUG!”

I COULD GO ON AND ON!

LEAVING NEW YORK HELPED ME TO FORGET HOW MANY PEOPLE DISSED ME IN THE INDUSTRY.

BUT, I MISS THE DAYS RUNNING AROUND WITH THE FABULOUS…JUST
GETTING INTO THE CLUBS, JULIE JEWELS WAS AT THE DOOR WITH
KENNY KENNY, AND THE SOUND FACTORY WAS ALL GAY & BLACK, THE PROJECTS THAT YOU HAD TO WALK THRU FOR SOUND FACTORY, AND THE CHOISE WASSCARRY.

THE CLUB-KIDS WERE WORKING AT PATRICIA FIELD’S & LIVING AT HOTEL 17 AND THE GRAMERCY HOTEL.

REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE?

I ESCAPED FROM NEW YORK…

    powerful memories…”Dead Can Dance”

I have always felt an religious experience listening to “DEAD CAN DANCE”
the music is very deep, emotional, and like a magical journey.

To meet them would be a thrill!

But, to sit and dine, and be in their presence would be like sitting at the last supper with the gods.
Not mine for I am often confussed with religion and beleifs.
I think one of the most powerful memories I have of New york would be house sitting my friends apartment in the Cloisters.

It was just my first experience watching an apartment which was so arty, and decorated with wall to wall “Richard Elmo” paintings!
The shelves had Fulperware, and the closet was filled with great classic records (disco and classical), and The dead Can Dance… The first one I saw was the one with the “religious-icon-like” cover.

My friend was Del Jewel, the manager of Uminoff and Parsons, and he was the biggest most sweetest, and open hearted homo I knew! He dragged me and Elizabeth to the Roxy, and all of his parties, and then I became his deejay.
I did my first lesbian wedding. I cut his hair, along with Richard’s and everyone who was not scared of the homo-friendly-straight-boy “Young Richard”

Del was one of the first to die, then was “Yummy George”, then “Young Richard Elmo May” moved away… I think I was getting darker and darker?
I met “Esu Jesus Sananda” right before I moved from my 27th street sub-lease, and just started to make music with “Peter Apostolopolous” and “Eddie Davis”

Which was the next best thing I had in New York besides deejaying and taking Photos.
They were already slowly trying to take me out of the big clubs …”I guess I was playing dark too?”

When Sananda died, I felt like I needed to change my goals…
But life always had unexpected turns for me, especially for my family that was also very involved with drugs, relocation, divorce, and death.

The music I would always play in my time of misery, deep thoughts, and my most intimate moments with my lover was always the sounds of the mesmerizing “Dead Can Dance”

Thanx for the memories Richard, those were quite the days. Yeah, think NYC was bad then, its morphed into something completely different now.
Randy & Fenton from World of Wonder are the worst P.T. Barnum idea stealing, cheap, chinchy, pyschic vampires known to man. They tried to get me to handover all my Limelight / Tunnel video tapes for “research” for free of course. I vote they both be shot on Pay -Per - View tonite. I think of you everytime I see that Party Monster poster (I was the DJ for that party remember?)Ihope that you are making a go of it in Japan, sorry I never get to see you when you visit NYC & havent heard from you in forever & a day but I still think of you from time to time .
HOpe all is good with you and your family
    Stay in touch
